Cooper Hewitt Publication
Typography Project
Cooper Hewitt is the nation’s only museum dedicated to historic and contemporary design, with a collection of over 210,000 design objects spanning thirty centuries. Located in the landmark Andrew Carnegie mansion and boasting a beautiful public garden, Cooper Hewitt makes design come alive with unique temporary exhibitions and installations of the permanent collection.
Neighborhood Poster
Typography Project
This project was a weekly design challenge to practice key typography skills like alignment, visual hierarchy, and scale. I created two posters to promote Pacific Beach, a popular San Diego neighborhood.
One design uses a large background photo and bold text to grab attention, while the other has a clean, magazine-style layout. Both focus on making the text easy to read and visually interesting. This helped me learn how to organize content and use type to tell a story.
Bookstore Rebrand
Branding Project
This project was a branding and identity design challenge where each student was assigned a bookstore from a different country to rebrand and rename. I was given They Said Books, located in Tbilisi, Georgia, on Giorgi Street. I reimagined the store as Giorgi Street Books, creating a new identity inspired by its local character and sense of place.
I designed a new logo, color palette, and typography system, applying them across stationery, signage, and social media graphics. The project focused on consistency, storytelling, and visual hierarchy, helping me learn how to create a cohesive brand identity that feels both modern and authentic.
This year I got to share my project for Creation Care Week at PLNU as a Senior Graphic Design-Marketing major. I focused on how climate change is affecting Italy’s farms and vineyards and how local communities are responding with water-smart practices like drip irrigation, cover crops, and farmers’ cooperatives to protect both the land and their traditions.
With this year’s theme, “Living Water, Living Earth,” I was reminded how deeply water connects everything — from vineyards in Italy to our own San Diego coastlines.
For my project, I highlighted simple ways we can all care for creation, like choosing to shop local, seasonal foods and wine, reducing food waste, shopping at farmers’ markets, saving water at home, and supporting climate policies that protect agriculture. I brought these ideas to life with a creative photo shoot and by giving out farmers’ market tote bags as a reminder to shop local and live sustainably.
I’m grateful to be part of a community working to care for the earth, protect our waters, and live sustainably!
